About Us

Region 6 is a collaborative group focused on identifying and addressing maternal and infant health concerns throughout the Thumb region of Michigan- including Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Clair, and Tuscola counties. Through a collaborative approach, we act as a "regional roundtable" where community members, health professionals, public health workers, social workers, local business owners, and many more, gather to collaborate, learn, strategize and align efforts to create sustainable impact, with the goal of decreasing maternal and infant disparities throughout the region.

"What's a PQC?"
The Region 6 "PQC", or Perinatal Quality Collaborative, is a group of individuals, who have collectively joined efforts to address maternal and infant health disparities throughout the Thumb area of Michigan. The Region 6 PQC is one of ten PQCs throughout Michigan. The Michigan PQCs are funded through MDHHS, and supported by MPHI (Michigan Public Health Institute). The Region 6 PQC was started in 2019, and has grown every year to include more and more partners. Click below for more information about Michigan PQCs.
